Module Description:
This module introduces the core principles and practices of financial accounting, with a focus on the preparation and interpretation of financial statements for sole traders and limited companies. Students will explore the essential accounting processes that support both internal and external reporting, and develop a foundation in the professional and regulatory context of accounting. The module also equips students with practical skills in evaluating financial information systems and interpreting financial data to support business decision-making.
Upon completion, students will be able to:
- Prepare and construct core financial accounting statements in accordance with accounting principles and standards.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting information systems in supporting financial decision-making.
