Module Description:

This module focuses on professional, social, ethical issues within the context of social responsibility and covers relevant computer laws (LSEPI) underpinning the Computing discipline. The focus of the module is empowering student to take their place in society associally responsible professionals and allowing the exploration of self-awareness, empathy, self-efficacy and engagement in students.

Upon completion, students will be able to:

• Demonstrate an awareness of the importance of Legal, social, ethical and professional issues (LSEPI) underpinning the computing discipline, and present a piece of critical analysis of their relevance to a topic of current importance.
• Appreciate and explain current regulations, and professional body guidelines (such as BCS Code of Conduct) governing the computing discipline.
• Demonstrate an awareness of the importance of ethical issues underpinning academic research and professional accountability.

Students will master techniques for identifying, preserving, and analyzing digital evidence, including data recovery, steganography detection, etc. Tools like Autopsy, FTK Imager, and Wireshark are used in hands-on labs to simulate real-world investigations.

Upon completion, students will be able to:

• Conduct forensic investigations using industry-standard tools to collect, analyze, and present digital evidence in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Apply e-discovery best practices to manage electronically stored information (ESI) throughout the litigation lifecycle, from identification to production.

Module Description:

The module enables students to demonstrate their acquired knowledge and skills through a systematic and creative investigation of a project work in accordance with their course requirements. The topic of investigation will cover a broad spectrum of various analysis and techniques and will lead to a comprehensive and concise academic/industry-related report.Students will be assisted in exploring areas that may be unfamiliar to them and encouraged to develop innovative ideas and techniques. Students will be able to choose a project that may require the solution to a specific problem, creation of an artefact in a real-world environmentor an investigation of innovative ideas and techniques related to an area within their field of study. Collaboration with outside agencies and projects with industrial, business or research partners/ sponsors will be encouraged.

Upon completion, students will be able to:

• Carry out independent research and investigative work.
• Apply knowledge, skills, and abilities to the solution of a previously unfamiliar real-life problem.
• Apply a structured design process to the development of the solution.
