Why Study this course?

The course provides an emphasis on the concept of artworks, 2D/3D character models, animations, textures, visual effects (VFX), rendering, and designing for web and mobile along with advancing on sound & music production. The course aims to provide you with career opportunities in the Multimedia industry along with professional practice in various positions including concept artist, technical artist, graphics designer, character animator, environment artist, VFX artist, etc.

* The full course has been developed and delivered by Islington College and has been evaluated and deemed by London Metropolitan University to be of an equivalent standard and quality to that of its own provision, and therefore suitable to lead to one of its own awards.

Entry Requirement

Academic Level

NEB +2 overall aggregate of 2.2 CGPA (55%) or above with each subject (theory and practical) grade D or above, and SEE Mathematics score of C+ (55%) or above
For A-Levels, a minimum of 3.5 credits and at least a grade of D and above

English Proficiency

English NEB XII Marks > 60% or 2.4 GPA
Applicants not meeting the aforementioned criteria for english can demonstrate their English proficiency with the following internationally recognised English Tests:

For Level 4 or Year 1 BIT

Pass in General Paper or English Language or IELTS 6 or PTE 57.

Module Description:

This module introduces the foundational principles of graphic design and digital image creation. In the first semester, students explore color theory, font design, composition, photo manipulation, perspective, UI design, and compression methods. In the second semester, they transition into motion graphics, applying principles of animation and working in both 2D and 3D spaces. By the end, students produce animated videos using graphics they’ve created.

Module Description:

This module introduces students to core programming concepts using Python. It covers procedural and object-oriented programming, algorithm development (e.g., sorting), flowchart and pseudocode design, file handling, debugging, and program testing. The goal is to build logical thinking and problem-solving skills foundational to multimedia programming.

Module Description:

Students are introduced to business processes, database systems, and foundational web technologies. Students also understand the client-server model and create static websites with wireframes and prototypes.

Module Description:

This year-long module primarily focuses on hard surface modelling using Autodesk Maya. The first semester emphasizes pre-production, scene planning, and documentation, while the second semester focuses on practical modelling, keyframe animation, rendering, and the creation of a 40–60 second animated short. Students learn to create clean, sharp, polygonal models suitable for various applications.
